The American concern is struggling for reducing expenses. The question is in thousands of job vacancies for British Land Rover and Jaguar that are part of Ford Premier Group. As British press announced, massive reductions of staff may take place as well as shutdowns of Land Rover plant in Birmingham and Jaguar in Coventry. In the meanwhile, the Coventry plant is the principal outlet producing XJ8 and XK8 makes with about 2’500 people employed, while the Land Rover plant is giving jobs for over 8’000 people. The losses of Premier Automotive Group were estimated at about $361 million lately.
Mark Field, PAG chairman, denied the restructuring plan worked out by Land Rover management and gave them another week to develop another one.
