ATLANTA – Tuesday’s storm in Atlanta caused crash of a small plane right in the city’s downtown. The plane went out of control because of the strong wind and hit the auto-body shop near the place where Marthin Luther King was born. As the result, two people aboard died. Luckily nobody on the ground got injured.
"It was trying to regain altitude, but it nosedived and it hit a building," said Zahir Ali, a 23-year-old construction worker. "After that, there was fire everywhere and people were running”, Reuters reported as cited.
It’s reported that the plane took off not far from DeKalb-Peachtree Airport and headed to Venice, Florida. According to FAA data, the plane was registered to J&R Aircraft Inc, Fla.; however, there was no telephone listing for the company. Officials at both the DeKalb-Peachtree Airport and the Venice Municipal Airport in Florida said they had no information about the plane, Guardian Unlimited said.
The building that was hit by the plane had only a few people inside, and no-one needed medical treatment.
