The real estate tycoon Donald Trump announced about his intention to build two 111-storey towers – one storey taller than the 1360-foot buildings destroyed on Sept. 11, 2001.
Trump has presented his own envisioned model of the construction, reflecting the shape of a destroyed World Trade Center.
For now Trump is going to make a presentation of his design on his own TV show "The Apprentice."
The Trump plan would require ditching the Libeskind plan for a 1,776-foot Freedom Tower, that would serve as a symbol of Independence of America. The plan is still hotly disputed.
"In a nutshell, Freedom Tower should not be allowed to be built, it's not appropriate for downtown Manhattan, it's not appropriate for Manhattan, it's not appropriate for the United States and it's not appropriate for freedom," Trump said.
In addition Trump announced his intention to launch a promotional movement in order to gain a support for his idea to rebuild twin towers.
As for his own ability to put his vision into action, Trump said: "I only have the power of persuasion. It's a very simple power, but sometimes it can be very strong."
